Medicare

Medicare can be overwhelming. Let’s break it down step by step.

When are you eligible? You are eligible to sign up for Medicare surrounding your 65th birthday. You can sign up 3 months before your birthday, the month of your birthday, or 3 months after your birthday. This is your initial enrollment period or IEP.

Medicare is divided into 4 parts. Part A, B, C, and D.

Medicare Part A and B are original Medicare.

Part A helps cover hospital visits, skilled nursing facilities, hospice care, and home health care.

Part B helps cover doctor visits, medical equipment, and some preventative services.

Medicare Part C covers Medicare A and B (which is original Medicare) plus extra benefits …such as dental, vision, and hearing - and could… include Part D, which is prescription drugs.

Medicare Part D is prescription drugs. If you only have original Medicare, which is part A and B, you will need to purchase Part D to cover prescriptions.

You can add, drop, or switch your coverage during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) which is Oct 15th - Dec 7th.

We want to help you have a smooth transition to Medicare and find the option that works best for you.
